Siblings in Jesus (Siblings)

Family doesn’t always come from shared DNA—and for many of us, the people who feel most like “siblings” are the ones God brings into our lives along the way. Today, Julie shares stories about chosen family and reminds us that Jesus Himself talked about a spiritual family made up of those who follow God together. It’s a comforting reminder that even if you didn’t grow up with the siblings you wished for, you can still find deep, meaningful, family‑level connection in your faith community.

This Week!

Monday Bible Story:

  • God has a plan for you to have siblings in your life, even if you’re an only child, even if you have a sibling that you just can’t be around. People in the early church called each other brother and sister, because we are all siblings in the family of God.

Tuesday Key Verse:

  • ‘Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.’ (Matthew 12:50)

Wednesday Prayer:

  • God, thank you that You have brothers and sisters for me no matter what when I am part of the family of God. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Thursday Question:

  • What does it mean to you, that you are part of God’s family, with brothers and sisters as part of that?

Friday Fun Fact:

  • Q: How many people say they have a chosen family member, someone they consider an extra sibling?
  • A: 87%
