Parenting Video Games Well (START HERE)

Is your child ready to play video games? If they already play, how do you know if it’s going well. First we need to look at our children in real-world activities, because if they’re faithful in little they can be faithful in much, and then assess their RESET to ensure the tech they use produces good fruit.

Six questions to ask about video games
1. Would you have this character over for dinner?
2. Is violence part of it, or the point of it?
3. Is the language helpful or hurtful?
4. Can it be beaten?
5. Do the messages agree with your family values?
6. Game Experience: Are there…

  • Unfair game design?
  • Microtransactions?
  • Unsafe strangers?

Three questions to ask your gamer:
1. Show me: What is your favorite part?
2. Teach me: Can you teach me to beat this boss?
3. Play with me: Can we play this level together?
