When it comes to video games, it can be helpful to look beyond the rating and ask a few deeper questions. Consider the characters your child is spending time with, whether the game’s violence is simply part of the story or the main attraction, and whether the game uses features like endless rewards, in-game purchases, or other tactics designed to keep kids playing longer than they intended.
The goal isn’t just deciding whether a game is good or bad, but understanding how it’s shaping a child’s heart, habits, and interests. Healthy games should be fun, age-appropriate, and easy to step away from so kids can enjoy the rest of life, too.
