Birthday season at our house is full of balloons, streamers, and joy—but also the stress of endless party planning decisions. All that effort reminds me of Jesus’ parable of the great banquet in Luke 14, where a host pours his heart into preparing a feast only to be met with excuses. The good news is that God’s invitation to His kingdom is even more extravagant, and He throws open the doors to welcome everyone in, celebrating each lost one who comes home.
