Forgiving – Hello My Name Is – Exodus 34

There is so much depth to the word “forgive” in Hebrew. It means accept, advance, arise, able to, armor, and even more significantly, “to lift, carry, or take”.  It has to do with physical lifting, bearing burdens, worship, oath-taking, pastoral care, and of course, forgiveness and atonement. This puts a whole new light  around Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…”
