Focusing on what truly matters in life and avoiding distractions from minor details is a WIN in my book. I hosted a gathering where I got caught up in insignificant issues instead of seeing the importance of quality time together. Perfection is a tough cookie. Work at prioritizing the important aspects of your life, and don’t get sidetracked by fluff.
This Week!
Monday Story:
- Small group, cleaning, noticed the door was grungy, then I noticed a spot that was missed while painting. The lasgana was taking longer than it should. Two sisters, Mary and Martha. Jesus says that Mary chose what was MOST IMPORTANT, not getting distracted by other details that, sure, were also important, but not the most important. It’s like at Christmas if we make a particular gift the most important, instead of making time with family and thinking about the birth of Jesus as most important.
Tuesday Key Verse:
- Luke 10:42 – Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.
Wednesday Prayer:
- God, I can get so distracted by things that aren’t the most important. I ask that the Holy Spirit help remind me to notice what is best in every situation. In the name of Jesus, amen.
Thursday Question:
- What is one of your favorite memories? What was the most important thing that happened in that memory?
Friday Fun Fact:
- Q: How much has the average human attention span dropped in the last 15 years?
- A: 25%
