Until God opens the door, praise Him in the hallway. If you are in the middle of a Holy Saturday, if you are waiting and asking and wondering, and petitioning and groaning half the time, I’m with you. I’m right there with you. He can still be trusted. He is still worthy of our praise. He is trustworthy. He’s worthy of our trust and He loves us. He’s figuring it all out. He’s got the calculator. He’s calculating and tabulating. You and I don’t have to do that. We can rest knowing we are surrounded on all sides by His unfailing love.
What do you say we do that today? Let’s start with the truth found in Psalm 33.

Until God opens the door, praise him in the hallway. What do you say we do that today, on the Bible for Busy People. Hi, I am Erica. It’s Friday, which means it’s time for joy bombs in the Psalms. We are going to dive right in to Psalm 33 today.
Let the Godly sing for joy to the Lord. It is fitting for the pure to praise him. Praise the Lord with melodies on the liar. Make music for him on the 10 string harp. Sing a new song of praise to him. Play skillfully on the harp and sing with joy.
Get ready for verse four. Here we go.
For the word of the Lord holds true and we can trust everything he does.
Everything
He loves, whatever is just and good. The unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. The Lord merely spoke and the heavens were created. He breathed the word and all the stars were born. He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let the whole world fear the Lord, and let everyone stand in awe of him. For when he spoke, the world began.
Let’s just pause there for a second. When the Lord spoke, the world began, it appeared at his command. Wow. Right?
The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes, but the Lord’s plans stand firm forever. His intentions can never be shaken.
Could we pause here for just a moment and camp down on this verse? You can pitch your tent on this verse.
The Lord’s plans stand firm forever.
You and I are walking in a wobbly world right now. Things are crazy. Just scroll through your newsfeed and it’s like, what would anything surprise you at this point?
But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever. His intentions can never be shaken.
So if you are waiting on him, you can trust him. Like the old hymn says on Christ, the solid rock, eye stand, all other ground is sinking sand. Right? Okay, verse 12, now.
What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, who is people he has chosen as His inheritance.
That’s you. If you know, if you’re listening right now, that is you. You are chosen to be his child.
The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race. from his throne. He observes all who live on the earth. He made their hearts so he understands everything they do. The best equipped army cannot save a king, nor is great strength enough to save a warrior. Don’t count on your warhorse to give you victory for all its strength. It cannot save you, but the Lord watches over those who fear him. Those who rely on his unfailing love.
Got to pitch another tent. Here you can rely on God’s unfailing love. This is what we do when we’re waiting. When you and I are walking through a holy Saturday season, where somewhere between Good Friday and Easter Sunday and there’s lots of gray area. This is when you and I learn how to rely on his love that never fails. This is when you and I remember that his plans stand. Nobody can stop the plans of the Lord for your life. He’s got the blueprints. Nobody has access to them. He is working in your life. He is making sure that everything he designed in that blueprint comes to fruition. I’m so thankful to the Lord and for his unfailing love. Okay, verse 19.
Now He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine. We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In Him. Our hearts rejoice for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.
It’s so beautiful that you and I can end this week and end this series focusing on God’s unfailing love. We are surrounded by it. Have you ever been to a butterfly pavilion or a nature museum where you walk into a room and you are absolutely surrounded by beautiful butterflies? They’re just flying all around you. Sometimes they land on you and it’s such a precious moment when that happens. You are surrounded by God’s unfailing love. His love never fails and you can rely on it. So, if you are in the middle of a holy Saturday, if you are waiting and asking and wondering, and petitioning and groaning half the time, I’m with you. Okay? Until Monday, when you and I begin a journey through Holy Week together, remember you are really loved with an unfailing love. God bless you.
